Who I am
My name is Marine and I am a Data and Business Intelligence Analyst. I specialize in optimizing marketing efficiency and accelerating sales growth for B2B organizations in the Tech and Finance industries.
For the past 5 years, I’ve been dedicated to analysing performances and building predictive models in order to transform competitive market challenges into streamlined marketing plans and easy-to-deploy sales strategies.
My approach, inspired by product development best practices, prioritizes developing tailored Business Intelligence solutions that empower teams to quickly implement strategic insights and reactively measure their results.
Where I developed my expertise
Like many in our field, my route to analytics was circuitous.
During my university years, I found myself at a crossroads. My interests gravitated between the distincts paths of engineering, law, entrepreneurship, supply chain management and finance. Ultimately, I settled for launching my career in Financial Analytics.
Once on the payroll, I grew into supporting financial product development and optimising tech go-to-market, eventually landing into the least understood and least measurable function at many companies: Marketing Analytics.
All these roles I took over had one thing in common: a consequent amount of data to leverage in order to understand the drivers behind strategic successes and failures. On that account I started to teach myself coding and automating in VBA, SQL and Python to keep up with speaking the language of productivity and return on investment.
Why this blog
I started my blog for a few reasons. It helps me structure my thoughts and clarify ideas as writing forces me to be precise and it actually leads me to either good conversations or great investigations. It’s also a way to share what I know, whether it’s insights from my work or just things I’ve figured out along the way. And let’s be honest, it’s also a great way to document things so I don’t have to dig through old notes every time I need to remember something.
On top of that, I feel that the world is suffocating under synchronised globalisation. So applying Machine Learning methodologies or communications techniques to participate in creating more personalised experiences feels like a breath of fresh air. That’s why I’m excited to share my passion for all things data-driven.
